    35-mile riders check-in by 9 a.m., and arrive at Whitehall Terminal by 8 a.m. for the 8:30 a.m. ferry

Battery Park City Ferry: For participants planning to travel from this weekend’s finish festival via NYC Ferry’s St. George route - which connects St. George to Battery Park City and West 39th Street on Manhattan’s Westside – remember that bicycles are welcome onboard, but there is limited bicycle capacity.

Participants traveling via NYC Ferry are encouraged to check the NYC Ferry app for updated schedules and service alerts, and be prepared to wait if boarding with a bicycle.

  • Volunteers can now sign up to help at TdSI 2024.
To find out more about being a volunteer, visit our Volunteer FAQ page.

  • Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferrable. No refunds will be offered for the Tour de Staten Island. You may convert your registration to a tax-deductible donation by e-mailing info@transalt.org

  • Ride marshals, wearing orange vests, can assist with minor repairs. Note that marshals do not carry supplies, so bring any tubes, etc. that you may need. Limited SAG (support + gear) will be available. If riders are not near transit, the SAG vehicle will pick you up and return you to the finish.

  • 35-milers will need to ride at approximately 10 mph. 50-milers should be riding at 12 mph. Please note: The amount of time you spend at a rest area is important! Be sure to consult the rest area closing times on your cue sheet to make sure you can reach the next stop before it closes.

  • The Tour de Staten Island does not have any road closures. Riders should be prepared to ride confidently alongside traffic and obey all traffic laws.

  • No. Helmets are encouraged but are not required on Transportation Alternatives' bike tours.

  • Full routes will be released to registered riders one week before the ride with PDF cue sheets and links to Ride with GPS. GPX files will also be available.

  • We ride rain or shine! In the case of inclement weather, TA reserves the right to cancel/modify the tour for safety concerns. We do not refund tour entry fees or transfer registrations.

  • Absolutely!

  • There is parking available at the Little Man Stapleton lot at 8 Navy Pier Court. Rates are as follows: 10 Hours - $15.00, 24 Hours - $20.00. Please check the website as rates may change.

  • Bicycle Repair: Not sure if your bike is in ride-ready shape? Bring it to a local bike shop for a comprehensive tune up. If it’s out of commission, you can always rent a bike from Bike Rent NYC through the NYC Half Century registration page: just sign up at least a week ahead of the ride.

Bike Check: Before you head out, be sure to perform an ABC check on your bicycle: Air, Brakes, Cranks, Cogs and Chains. Make sure all these components are working properly before ride day. For long distance rides, it is especially important not to go by “feel” on tire air pressure. Get a tire gauge and check your tires for the recommended PSI (pounds per square inch).

  • Sign a petition or learn how to get involved at www.transalt.org/staten-island

  • At checkout, you will see both the ticket price and the Eventbrite fees. Fees are set by Eventbrite and cover ticket processing fees. By paying the fee, you are ensuring that all of the ticket price covers expenses for producing the event and helps TA raise more funds to support safe streets!

  • Bike rentals are available! Reserve your bike(s) in advance via our sponsor’s website: Unlimited Biking.

Reserved bikes can be picked up at the start line and helmets are provided with rentals at no additional cost.
